Summer Music Festival Ready With Charlotte Russe
August 2, 2014
The dream is to be adorn yourself in Wildfox, MinkPink and Somedays Lovin like all of the celebrities, but I understand that high prices get in the way very quickly. I’m here to help you find an outfit that is just as trendy but way more affordable. I’ve looked to Charlotte Russe for help with this project. Their youthful vibe is perfect for any music festival outfit.
Any festival during the summer, whether it is in San Francisco or New York, involves a whole lot of sunshine. This means you’re going to want to wear as little clothing as possible without overstepping the line into the trashy realm. Start with a basic crop top like the Fitted Racer Front Crop Top, $8. Some might find it too simple, but I find the racer front to be extremely flattering and interesting.
I suggest getting it in white for a brighter look. Pair it with the Destroyed Cut Off High Waisted Denim Shorts, $20. I’m a huge fan of the light distressed coloring. Stay away from colors that are too dark when picking an outfit for these events. In my opinion, the lighter and brighter, the better.
With these two pieces, you will definitely be beating the heat during the daytime. So what happens when a slight breeze comes into play or temperatures drop a few degrees with the disappearance of the sun? I suggest bringing a kimono with you for a light layer. Because you’re wearing such a plain crop top, a printed kimono will add another dimension to your look. I’m a fan of the Knit Floral Print Kimono Top, $20.
In terms of shoes, you’ll definitely want to opt for flats since you’ll no doubt be doing a lot of walking and dancing. I know some people that prefer wearing Keds or Converse; however, I suggest going for sandals to expose your feet to some air. Something neutral like the Gold Plated T-Strap Thong Sandals, $26 will last you the entire weekend. The rust color will go with any outfit, especially this one, and the gold detailing adds a little spice.
Finish your outfit with the Boho-Chic Turquoise and Feather Pendant Necklace, $6. This accessory screams music-festival-ready and will be a great final touch to your look.
And with that, you’re ready! Soak in the good music and even better people watching. Also one final tip, don’t forget to apply sunscreen.
