Pregnancy Can Be Chic with Destination Maternity
July 17, 2014
I remember seeing pictures from years and years ago of "pregnancy fashions". They were a total joke, big, baggy and often in solid colors. They were not fashionable at all.
That's not the case anymore! You can get amazing clothes when you are pregnant these days, you can look just as chic as you did before you had a bump. This is really important for those that work in professional jobs or for those that have events and parties to attend.
Now you can grab attention for looking smokin' hot and not for being a smokin' hot mess.
One of the best places to shop is Destination Maternity. They have such a great selection of clothing and you can fully outfit yourself -from head to toe- without much effort.
Here are some of the basics you'll need to keep your fashion forward status:
Lots of things change when your belly starts to grow. If you think you'll be able to wear the same panties and bras that you wore pre-pregnancy, you won't. This is why you need to shop for appropriate maternity undergarments
. The basics you'll need are panties, bras and nursing bras if you intend on breast feeding, a slip to wear with those more sheer dresses and some cami's with a built in bra for comfortable lounging.
Everyone needs a great pair of jeans
. When your belly grows, you'll need to eventually get some with a built-in pregnancy panel. It's made of soft cotton and covers your belly while holding up your jeans. Once you put a shirt on, they won't even know you've got maternity jeans on! They will be comfortable, too, in the days after a C-section, if you have one!
You'll need a couple of dresses, especially in the summer. You can get a few that are multipurpose
and can be dressed up or down with accessories. Make sure you pick a friendly and lightweight fabric, like cotton, so that you are comfortable.
Comfortable Sleep Wear
Trying to sleep when you are really
pregnant is hard. It's even harder if you are trying to put your pregnant body in your normally sexy sleeping attire! Get something comfortable, cotton and cute
. Trust me, it will make you feel loads better. You might also want to think about getting something that is lightweight. You tend to sweat when you are pregnant and having something light weight will be perfect. Plus, you'll want something that you can lounge around in and feel comfortable.
If you are pregnant during the summer, you might want to grab a great suit
. Swimming is an awesome way to take pressure off your lower back when pregnant and also a great way to exercise. I also found that it was an awesome way to relax. You won't be able to sit in a spa but you will be able to sit and lounge in style.
