Home Depot Organizes Your Life
September 29, 2014
It can seem overwhelming, but if you work your way through your home, room by room, you'll be organized and ship-shape in no time. Think of places in your home that tend to get disorganized the most- maybe it is the entry way or mud room, the playroom and the office and know that clutter and chaos will always happen in these locations, and plan for it. Key hooks, file organizers, shoe bins, and magnetic memo boards will make the mess more contained and look immensely better.
Let the Good Things maven Martha Stewart help guide you through the process. Her line of storage items, organizational tools, and decor available at Home Depot is a great jumping-off point to get you in gear. We love her storage benches, bins, cubbies, desks and craft storage pieces.
If outdoors is where you tend to get lax on tidiness, Home Depot has every type of rack, hook and shelf imaginable for tools, bikes, sports gear and gardening equipment. If you have an existing shed, maximize that space by placing shelves and bins on the wall and leaving the floorspace free for larger items, like a lawn mower or snow blower.
If the budget is tight or your heart isn't totally into it, please just do this one thing: Invest in bins. Bins might be the cheapest and easiest way to be quasi-organized. Even if the contents are not, in fact, organized, they will be protected from harm by flooding or insects, and the bins can be labelled and stacked in a basement, attic or spare room and looking neat in no time flat.
You can do this, and once you get started you just might surprise yourself how rewarding it can feel to get your home back in shape.
